Hebrew | Beginner and Elementary
Using the information here, you can discover what is
learned at every level in the beginners and elementary courses in Hebrew. You
can try to identify your level according to the examples of communicative
goals and language topics taught at each level. For your convenience,
alongside the standard level of the European Union (CEFR), the level of the parallel
level in most Hebrew Ulpans in Israel is shown. For a general explanation of
the European standard levels, click here.
Ask yourself two questions:
1. "Can I perform this level’s goals in
Hebrew?" For example, ordering at a coffee shop or planning a trip that
would suit all my friends.
2. "Do I feel comfortable with the language
topics that are learned at this level?" For example, using verbs in past or
future time?
If the answer is yes, then move on to the
next level. It is clear to us at Language Links that level placement is not an
exact science and therefore we will assist you in identifying your level with an
interview and a written test.
At each session you will enjoy a combination
of our original learning materials, educational games, pictures, dialogues and
role-playing games, presentations, songs and film clips, newspaper and
literature segments and tours in Tel Aviv. At each level, you learn new things
and review previous material in a spiral approach with the rise in level.
